Popcorn Drawing Project
This is a fun still-life project. I gave the students No. 2 pencils and blending tools. We started by drawing value sketches of paper bags and individual popcorn kernels. Both objects are great practice.
I brought in popcorn for all of the students to eat, and then set up this still-life. I was happy to find these old-school popcorn bags at a local party supply store! I let the students choose between black and white background paper and then we used prismacolor pencils. All the drawings turned out very well! Look at the foreshortening Lily added when she wrote popcorn on the side of the bag. Excellent work!
Check out an additional lesson to go with this in From Ordinary to Extraordinary.
